Manchester United: Strongest XI vs Newcastle – with Bayern in mind

United travel to Toon Town

It’s a difficult situation for David Moyes this weekend. He clearly wants to get as many points as possible on the board in the league this season and get on the winning run that will safeguard his future.

But, at the same time, we all know where the really big game is. With a fourth place finish in the league little more than a pipe dream Bayern on Wednesday is Manchester United’s only hope of glory this season.

While not being in Europe means a lot of empty midweeks on the calendar next season, you only need to look at Liverpool’s title challenge, to see the benefits of not playing in Europe. That said, The Europa league would offer Manchester United another potential route to The Champions League next season, as the winners will get a place in the qualifying round for the big one.

But soccersweep would rest everyone worth resting and send a fresh team out to face the Germans. But the article is about Manchester United’s ‘strongest XI’ so we shall give you two versions – the strongest 11 plus the best team to pick with Bayern in mind.

Manchester United still haven’t selected their best eleven this season, in soccersweep’s opinion. That team would cram in the talents of Welbeck, Kagawa, Mata, and Rooney. We would like to see Mata in centre mid – at least give it a go and add some spark in the middle of the park.

Manchester United Strongest XI vs Newcastle

De Gea, Rafa, Jones, Rio, Evra – Carrick, Mata – Welbeck, Kagawa, Valencia – Rooney

Manchester United best XI with Bayern in mind

De Gea, Smalling, Jones, Evans, Buttner – Fletcher, Cleverley – Januzaj, Mata, Young – Chicharito

Who ever wrote this article clearly knows nothing about Manchester United and the game of Football itself! Both Evra and Evans are injured, Cleverly should not be in the starting 11 no matter who the opposition is and finally Mata is cup tied! Please do your research before printing such pointless crap!

bad formation, and tactics…. For the newcastle match, evans is still injured, so my formation against the magpies will be – De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Evra, Nani Fletcher, cleverley, Januzaj, Mata, Chicharito (Rooney injured)

For bayern match – De Gea, Rafael/Jones(doubtful), Ferdinand, Vidic, Buttner, Felaini, Carrick, Valencia Kagawa Welbeck, Chicharito (Rooney doutbful with toe injury)
