Manchester United rumours: Who is Sead Kolašinca?

Left back cover?

With all the crazy clamour surrounding Luke Shaw to Manchester United this summer you might imagine that the club aren’t looking elsewhere for a left back.

Shaw would pretty much be at the top of any Manchester United fan’s list to come in and replace the legendary Patrice Evra this summer. Even at 18 it is hard to find fault in the young man’s game. He’s fast, competitive, has a massive engine and can glide up and down that line all day long.

Add to that the fact that he’s got a sweeter delivery than Ashley Cole and perhaps even Leighton Baines and we are talking about a player who could become one of the greatest Manchester United defenders of all time – if they do manage to sign him. We would start him at The World Cup. That’s how highly we rate the lad.

We would you like to see Evra stay at Manchester United beyond this summer but he won’t want to sit on the bench when he can be playing at another top club. But we also think that Alex Buttner’s days at Manchester United could be severely numbered after another dreadful performance against Everton at the weekend.

So perhaps Manchester United will add two left backs this summer. Enter Sead Kolašinca? The 20 year old Schalke left back has played 37 league games for the club since joining in 2012. He has really begun to establish himself of late and drawn admiring glances from around Germany.

There have been murmurs, albeit unsubstantiated, that Manchester United are aware of his talents and we think he looks as if he has decent if somewhat raw potential.

One of the two left backs wont be Luke Shaw, he is commited to Southampton on a long contract and indeed only yesterday the Saints issued a club statement saying there are to be no summer sales, however they are going to bring in more talented player into an already excellent squad.
