De Gea – An 8/10 sort of guy every time. A top tier Manchester United player. 8
Phil Jones – A future Manchester United legend. Played brilliantly at right back. 8
Nemanja Vidic – Another massive performance from the centre back. 8
Chris Smalling – The boy became a man in this 90 minutes. 8
Patrice Evra – Continuing to fade as a footballer but has been a real legend for Manchester United and summed up his time at the club with a swashbuckling goal. 7
Antonio Valencia – Will always give you 100% in terms of work rate and this was one of his better games for Manchester United this season. Probably United’s biggest threat going forward.7
Michael Carrick – Did his defensive duties very well but didn’t offer enough quarterback style balls for the forwards – 6
Darren Fletcher – Another one who performed well defensively. 6
Danny Welbeck – Welbeck, Kagawa and Rooney seemed to float but we would have liked to see Welbeck on the Manchester United left all night. 6
Shinji Kagawa – Brilliant on the ball but didn’t see enough of it. 6
Wayne Rooney – Whether or not due to the injection he didn’t quite look like the striker that we know him to be in front of goal. Missed one gilt-edged chance at 1-1 which could have changed the game.
