Juan Mata wants to leave Chelsea – report

Mata - The Enigma

Mata reportedly wants out of Chelsea

We feel that this transfer story could move really quickly. When talking about players in the £30-£40 million bracket you generally get responses from all parties on a pretty speedy basis.

That Chelsea haven’t publicly denied the player’s availability in the winter window tells us that they could well be prepared to do a deal. It’s been all over the papers today but nobody from Chelsea has come out to suggest that the speculation is a load of nonsense.

Manchester United would surely bite the hand off Chelsea in order to get a deal done in January. At his best this is one of the top 10 players in the world – it’s just a shame for the player and Chelsea fans that they can’t find a place for him in their team.

Marca today reports that Mata wants to leave Chelsea. They Say:

Mata looking for ‘Blues’ exit

The player’s representatives want to find a solution and a way out for the Spain international. The player is even more anxious after not featuring at all in his side’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

The player’s agents have flown to London once again, after visiting the English capital last week. The message they have transmitted to Chelsea is the same as it was just a few days ago: a satisfactory solution must be found for both parties and Mata’s complex situation must be brought to an end.

Despite the wealth of clubs at the top end of The Premier League, player power is more important than ever. If Mata states a desire to leave Chelsea then it will surely expedite a deal. Manchester United are crying out for a bit more creativity in the centre of the park and we feel that the Spaniard could do a brilliant job at Old Trafford.

The concern that some have is that David Moyes may not be prepared to pay the asking price to bring the player to Manchester United. But surely, even at £40 million, Mata would be an absolute bargain if it means Manchester United qualifying for The Champions League again come May. Every team needs stars and Mata is undoubtedly one of those.

Some areas of the media have suggested that the player wouldn’t be the solution to Manchester United’s current malaise because he’s not a conventional central midfielder. But we say that, when a player of this quality becomes available you don’t ask questions – you simply get your cash on the table. Manchester United desperately need Juan Mata.
