What a list

Manchester United have spent £60 million plus already this summer but it feels like just the beginning of the transfer activity.

Despite these excellent signings, if reports are anything to go by, Manchester United could sign several more players in the close season.

In fact The Guardian today reports that Manchester United are being linked with a whopping 8 more players. soccersweep runs the rule over them:

Manchester United’s move for Thomas Vermaelen is closer than it was yesterday. United plan to pair him with Feyenoord’s Stefan de Vrij, and – in a tacit acknowledgement that maybe they didn’t get the mix right last season – also fancy Roma’s Kevin Strootman, Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben, Juve’s Arturo Vidal, PSV’s Memphis Depay, Torino’s Alessio Cerci and Borussia Dortmund’s £20m-rated Mats Hummels.

Thomas Vermaelen – At 28 years old he’s a solid player with great experience. Hasn’t really shown what he can do for Arsenal over the last couple of years because he hasn’t been selected. But he was a brilliant player when he first joined the club – A sensible if underwhelming signing for Manchester United.

Stefan de Vrij – At 22 he’s got huge potential and already shows real class and composure on the ball – a little like Rio Ferdinand. Already a Holland regular and worth a punt.

Kevin Strootman – If this guy wasn’t currently injured we think that Manchester United would’ve signed him already. An absolutely brilliant box to box player and someone who can lead the club forward from midfield.

Arjen Robben – we don’t really need to convince you about the qualities of this lad – the dream signing for Manchester United this summer – even at 30.

Arturo Vidal – known as a true warrior he does exactly what he says on the tin. A brilliant combative midfielder who also scores loads of goals – what more do you need from a middle man?

Memphis Depay – a really exciting young star of The World Cup and it seems that Louis van Gaal would be in the box seat to sign him if he does want to bring to the lad to Manchester United.

Mats Hummels – not as good as Mangala but better than Miranda he would definitely be an excellent choice for centre back at Manchester United next season.

Alessio Cerci – a player who hasn’t been as oft linked to United as the others on the list. The 26 year old winger has played 13 times for Italy and banged in 21 in 72 games for Torino from the wide areas.

Let’s see him in action. Manchester United fans – which of these guys most boils your potatoes?

Mats Hummels – not as good as Mangala but better than Miranda he would definitely be an excellent choice for center back at Manchester United next season-
1- You have no idea who Hummels is, and the quality he possesses..
2- Mangala is over-rated- I have seen him for Porto / France. If it wasn’t for Porto and their amazing negotiating techniques he would be playing for West Ham and struggling in the premier league. Has terrible positional sense – etc etc.
3- Hummels at 24 is just better than Thiago Silva.
4- 20m is a derisory offer for him.!!.
5- Please watch German football before you comment of Hummels.!!.
