Why is Vida leaving?

Manchester United fans have been up and down like a harlot’s knickers this season – but mainly down as their team has taken a nose dive in the performance department.

It all started so well fro David Moyes with a Community Shield win and a battering of the hitherto impressive Swansea on their own patch. In retrospect the new Manchester United manager perhaps should have got his slippers and pipe out just let the team manage itself.

6 months down the line and the situation is scarcely believable. serious title and Champions League contenders struggling in seventh position and adrift of the top four by an ever increasing margin.

On top of all this there has been various player disquiet as rumours abound about wholesale summer changes. We do know that Nemanja Vidic will be leaving the club after stating publicly that his glorious time at Manchester United will come to an end this may.

Reports this week suggest that Manchester United may have found a replacement. Talksport said last night:

Juventus outcast Martin Cáceres has emerged as a potential replacement for Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic.

He has played just five league matches this season and would be available for around £8m.

Juventus outcast? How times have changed. On the positive side, the 26 year old has played for Uruguay 55 times swell as some of the best clubs in Europe – Barcelona, Sevilla, Villareal and Juventus. He just doesn’t seem to have settled for long anywhere.

Perhaps Manchester United can become a spiritual home to the Uruguayan. But it does again beg the question Why are United letting Nemanja go?

Let’s take a look at him in action. Manchester United fans – would you rather see this Juventus ‘outcast’ in the team or keep Vida?
