Unbelievable

Pacey, explosive, inventive and truly frightening. That’s Radamel Falcao and Manchester United have surely done the best deadline day business in the transfer window by bringing him to the club.

The sensational Colombian has scored stupendous amounts of goals wherever he has played – 45 in 105 for River Plate, and eye-popping 72 in 87 games for Porto, 70 in 91 games fro Atletico Madrid and 11 in 20 for Monaco. In short, he guarantees lots of goals for every club he plays for.

It’s an A-list signing and Manchester United will surely make Falcao their new number 9. The BBC reports that there is already an outline deal in place to take the player on a permanent basis when the loan deal expires next year. They say:

Falcao has scored 11 goals in 20 appearances for Monaco, and has two in three games this season.

The deal includes an option for United to buy the striker for 55m euros (£43.5m) at the end of the loan spell.

We think that this is the deal that stops the rot for Manchester United. Angel Di Maria is a magician but the addition of Falcao totally reinvigorates the forward line and gives Van Gaal such options in the creative areas.

Falcao may have preferred the loan deal to ensure that he would be playing Champions League football next season. But the way that the squad is shaping up now it’s difficult to imagine Manchester United not competing in Europe’s top competition again by next season.
