Firstly we have to say that, in our view, this has gone from being a very likely transfer to a rather unlikely one.

The summer was dominated by Manchester United’s reported interest in Juventus powerhouse Arturo Vidal. The deal didn’t come off, perhaps because of concerns over the long term fitness of the player.

Latest reports suggest that Manchester United will pursue the player in January now that his knee has fully healed.

Man Utd given ALL CLEAR to sign £35m Juventus star Arturo Vidal

Professor Ramon Cugat – the surgeon who operated on the midfielder prior to the World Cup – has said Vidal is fine and has no lingering concerns over his knee.

Cugat said: “He’s not injured, of course, given that he played.

“I have said it is fine, he has taken the field in the Italian league and with his national team.

The news will come as a welcome boost to Old Trafford chiefs who are watching Vidal’s situation with interest.

Judging by comments made in the summer, we think that Vidal would be open to a move.

But we think that his time for a move to Manchester United may have passed. We’d love to see him at the club but feel that United may now go for a younger, longer term investment like Strootman or perhaps even Ross Barkley, though the latter seems to be developing into more of an attacking prospect.

Either way, having so much in the summer, the idea of paying up to £40m on a player who, despite his amazing gifts, is in the last 4 years of his top level career and would have little sell on value seems to lack the prudence that you would usually associate with Manchester United.

With the obvious high profile exceptions the policy over the last 10 years has largely been to buy players of 26 and under.

Manchester United fans: will LvG have another splurge on Vidal or go for a younger midfield prospect?

Tired of this stupid transfer rumour. Let’s forget chasing clubs for there players who are not interested to sell otherwise, we would just spend over the top. The same could be said about Kevin Strootman. However good he is but, no way is he worth £75 million especially after still recovering from a serious knee injury. If i were United i would keep close tabs on Gundogan 23, who has just returned from a year long back injury. If he could regain full fitness and be the same player, i think we have a chance to sign him alot cheaper than both Strootman/Vidal. Dortmand are also fully congested in his holding position!

Ok in my opinion these mature two telented players Dani Alves and Arturu Vidal can give us immediate help to go back for top four while the club w’ll be preparing young players after ward
