Manchester United gearing up for Massive Swap Deal?

What a superstar

It was reported in the media last week that Everton might make a move for Manchester United’s under fire midfielder Tom Cleverley. The media outlet in question reported that:

Everton manager Roberto Martinez wants to sign under-fire Manchester United star Tom Cleverley in a £15million deal this summer,

Although some sections of the media have suggested that, rather surprisingly given his questionable form, Cleverley may be offered a new deal at Manchester United, it’s not inconceivable that the player could leave the club this summer.

The report says that Cleverley ‘impressed on loan at Roberto Martinez’s Wigan three years ago’, and thinks the player would suit the new Toffees style. Debatable.

But you also imagine that there will be serious suitors for Ross Barkley this summer with City, Manchester United and Chelsea all credited with an interest over the last year.

What price then a swap deal? Moyes would feel well placed to bring Barkley to Manchester United if he were available, having worked with him before at Everton, and such a deal would surely cross his mind if Martinez did want Cleverley.

In reality it would cost Manchester United another £35m plus Cleverley to get their man. An even bigger stumbling block would be that an improving Everton will fight tooth and nail to keep Barkley unless any offer is for silly money. Barkley too seems very settled. Everton may not sate his football desires forever but they seem to be growing at a similar rate right now.

And, rather unusually, Everton may be in a position to offer Barkley the Champions League football that Manchester United are probably unable to next season. How ruthlessly football fortunes can change.

But, despite all these obstacles, Barkley represents exactly what Manchester United need and lack in the middle of the park – namely youth, dynamism, penetration and daring.

There will undoubtedly be a lot of speculation about Ross Barkley this summer, particularly if he plays a part in the World Cup – We at soccersweep would start him for England – but we feel that Everton will probably succeed in holding onto the brilliant youngster for the time being.

I will be vry happy to see barkley on Manutd shirt than to see cleverley wearing it. If the swap comes true. I suggest we add Ashely young as a gift for good ideal done.
