Man U

Manchester United now clear favourites to sign powerhouse – not Vidal – according to bookie

Solid

Manchester United fans probably see the signing of Arturo Vidal as the ‘Plan A’. His arrival would really bring a lift to the midfield. And despite his proclamation last week that

‘I do not go to Manchester’

the rumour mills are still awash with speculation that the deal could still be on and that Manchester United are about to make another blockbuster bid.

Whatever happens it’s not going to be an easy deal to do and perhaps the Plan B is coming into sight.
That plan could involve the solid Dutchman Nigel De Jong.

He got injured at The World Cup but it doesn’t look like a serious one and he should be back in training before long. Manchester United have been linked for a while and if the Vidal deal doesn’t come off then perhaps they will become more serious in their pursuit of the 29 year old.

De Jong may not have quite the technique or goal scoring prowess of Vidal but he didn’t get 76 caps for Holland by being average.

He’s served every club that he has played for – Ajax, Hamburg, Manchester City and Milan – with great credit and you won’t see many clubs complaining about him. His a top pro and, while he may not be the ‘Hollywood’ signing that Manchester United fans crave, he certainly wouldn’t let anyone down at Old Trafford.

We would love to see the Chile international come through the door at Manchester United this summer. But the club is going to need a defensive midfielder, even if that one doesn’t happen, and Nigel de Jong would be a super substitute.

Bookmaker Skybet have Manchester United as clear favourites to sign the player this summer, if he does leave his club, at odds of 7/4.

Let’s see the lad in cation. Manchester United fans: should LVG get this one done now?

not bad choice till we get strootman I guess. am bored wit this vidal saga,yh signing him will be awesome but if he doesn’t wonna sign de jong is good option till strootman comes in..and with this di maria tin I don’t tink we nid him, signing Cuadrado Is a better option for our new formation as a right wing back. good luck ggggmu!!!!!

De Jong is a solid midfielder but not in the same class as Vidal. You get what you pay for. The extra fuss in the Vidal saga is a reflection of the “cheap” philosophy used by United to buy players. Do PSG, Barca or Real quibble over a few million? No, because they know what they want and they go get it before another team jumps in. How many players have United lost out on because they took too long to close the deal? United are an elite team wannabe with a poor transfer acquisition policy.

OH my God, of all players you talk about De- jong. its a pitty instead of de-jong man u should think of strotman, caravalo, since vidal case is now a sager or else we shouldnt even sign any mid fielder and pull w-roony back to no 8 to play with hererra.though we need a serious no 7 not a-valencia and as well a good no 5.things will be kawa if this could work out

I just like this ERIC guy. When serious teams are buying Kroos, Suarez, Costa, J. Rodriguez and the likes, you’re thinking of old De Jong. De Jong and Athletico’s Koke who is better. We didn’t want to sell Ronaldo but serious and business minded Madrid lured us with money because they knew what they were looking for. But that is not the case with Utd. Some financial, and for that matter tranfer policies, should be reviewed to suit current situations. The team must rise again because we need more Champions League trohpies.

Is it true that Utd want to buy the flop Cavani so that PSG can also buy better Di Maria? Why? The position Cavani will play is full but that of Di Maria is vacant -the wings. We don’t want the likes of Fellaini again. What Di Maria can contribute to the Utd team will far out weigh what Cavani will bring. Let’s persivere for Vidal, Di Maria, Hummels and Raphael Verane and I believe the tragedy will never repeat itself with Van Gaal steering the affairs.

It seems ManU problem is cash in hand. The clubs which have money buy players with easy. CR7 80m, Bale 86m، Suarez 75m why drag transfers like that! Please LVG Nov & Dec. will be a period that all ManU fans bemoan lack of transfers in certain areas of the squad. Ed Wood learn from last seasons disappointments this time opponents are more reinforced than last season including relagation threatened teams. All in all act faster please!. Manchester United forever .
