Manchester United: Bale puts pen to paper

The idea of Gareth Bale strutting his stuff at Old Trafford next season would really have got the juices flowing for male United fans in a way that would have made wives worry about the sexual leanings of their hitherto wholly hetero hubbies. If this bit of transfer spec had actually come to pass it would have even eclipsed the excitement of the Hazard to Manchester United hype.

But another dream has today bitten the dust for United fans as, a little surprisingly considering his recent rumblings, Bale has put pen to paper on a new four year deal at Tottenham Hotspur. That is not to say that the transfer frenzy won’t start all over again if Bale has another monster season next time out. But, at his age, he can enjoy life at Tottenham for at least a couple more years before thinking about other challenges. Of course, if Tottenham continue to improve, he may stay for good.

After a topsy turvy two weeks at Tottenham this will come as great news to the fans of Spurs but serve as another disappointment to Manchester United fans who still believe that the Red Devils sit at the top table of transfer activity.

So who is next for United?

Ha Ha Ha…keep telling yourself that to console yourself.
Modric is exactly what you need, but you won’t get him. You won’t be getting Bale. The days when United can just bully teams like Spurs into giving them their best players has gone.
I find it hilarious and sickening in turns, the way it is being reported that United deperately want him but are unhappy that they can’t match the asking price that other teams will be prepared to match – like Spurs should just let ‘them’ name the price ‘they’ want to pay. Pathetic.

Modric what we need? Ha ha. You keep telling yourself that. Give me a Fellaini or a Tiote any day of the week over ten Modrics. He’s a lightweight and I hope to god that he goes to Madrid. He’s got flop wrote all over him, just looks good next to all the other dross at Spurs

The wonderful arrogant United ‘fan’ in denial who doesn’t believe they need Bale. Well we’ve seen Young in the Euros and Nani wants out so interesting to see the amazing left sided player that is so good they don’t need Bale. Park? Giggs? Man U can’t compete with Citeh anymore and they don’t think they need Bale. Brilliant.

dont believe everything you hear about nani, on MUTV nani was interviewed saying all the talk of him leaving is hear say and that he loves manunited. So you keep on believing all these idiot rumour papers.

Gareth bale is obviously not what man.utd needs @ dis point in time, all man.u needs is one MODRIC, one ALBA nd’ possibly a GAITAN already we’v got KAGAWA &NICK POWELL and the future of EPL&UCL lies with MANCHESTER UNITED. Bale can rust @ spurs we don’t need him!

Yes no doubt Gareth Bale is a world class player and would be an assett to any team if he was
available but hes not, and i believe united have known that for some time, that is why we have been targeting another young left sided player ,who i believe, is just as good as Gareth and more importantly wants to play for Man United, just like Kagawa, and Powell.

“The idea of Gareth Bale strutting his stuff at Old Trafford next season would really have got the juices flowing for male United fans in a way that would have…”

Yawn… Are you going to do this with every decent player in the world who signs a new contract? How is it a story that a player we haven’t been trying to sign has chosen to stay with his current club?
