Manchester United are prepared to break their transfer record for £60m star Edinson Cavani – report

Cavani scores for fun wherever he plays. Despite starting well in France, there are rumours that he too could be heading for England, with Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly among his suiters

Massive transfer rumour

We are told that every cloud has a silver lining. We aren’t sure by whom. But, at any rate, the tenure of David Moyes clearly wasn’t without its benefits.

We heard that he was working on several deals before his sacking Monday in an attempt to restore Manchester United to where many feel that they belong.

Late last night The Guardian broke the story that Manchester United are serious about signing PSG’s worldie Edinson Cavani.

The superb publication reported:

Manchester United intend to plough ahead with their transfer business during the potentially long process of waiting for a new manager to start – almost three months in Louis van Gaal’s case – and their extensive inquiries include exploring the possibility of whether Paris Saint-Germain might sell Edinson Cavani.

Ed Woodward, United’s chief executive, has been made aware that Cavani might be available

The fee would be high, potentially £60m for a 27-year-old, in complete contrast to the policy that existed at Old Trafford a few years ago

The report states that while Manchester United have a good stock of forwards they are concerned by a lack of pace and dynamism. He’s scored 22 goals in 37 games since his £52.7m move from Napoli last summer but his form has taled off amid reports that he isn’t completely happy in France.

soccersweep concurs that Manchester United do lack pace up front and it is limiting their ability to counter-attack – a hallmark of their playing style over The Premier League years.

Let’s see the brilliant 27 year old in action. Manchester United fans should o’clock go all out to sign this guy or is he a luxury that you don’t need at present?

Let’s have your thoughts on this exciting news.

I would never sign him for this price, he’s a flop at PSG. This would be the next torres. We only need to buy centre backs and defensive midfielders. We can get the rest from our youth systen
