Manchester United remain strong favourites to sign world class midfield maestro

Perfect signing for Moyes

It’s been a pretty awful season for Manchester United so far. They remain in every competition but Manchester United’s grip on the title is becoming ever more loose and the performances from the team this season have been largely soulless.

David Moyes has had more serious injuries to contend with than his rivals but he doesn’t seem to be getting the best out of his available crop. He can moan all he likes about the Young penalty claim in the defeat to Tottenham. But with disjointed performances like this Manchester United don’t deserve victories.

They are absolutely howling out for some real class in the midfield. Moyes needs to bring in at least one player who can put the opposition on the back foot. Too much of Manchester United’s current midfield play is cautiously sideways.

Despite his recent utterances about being happy at Galatasaray, Wesley Sneijder continues to be linked with Manchester United and the club are now favourites for his signature in January with bookmaker SkyBet. At odds of 3/1 the bookmaker seems pretty confident that the player will make a move to United this winter – and how Manchester United need him.

At 29 he’s on the top of his game. He’s technically superb and scores a goal every 3 games at least. He would be magnificent purchase for an ailing Manchester United team that is desperate for some new inspiration in the middle.

United fans, is Sneijder the answer or would you rather invest in a younger player?

UTD SHOULD OFFLOAD SIX AND MAKE 3 MARQUEE SIGNING. FOR ME IT IS 3 IN 6 OUT. = ANDERSON AND NANI PLUS £20M FOR REUS~KAGAWA AND CHICHARITO £20M FOR EITHER POGBA OR KOKE~CLEVERLY AND YOUNG PLUS £25M FOR BARKLEY..=CAPITAL BYE BYE TO GIGGS’ FLETCHER’ FERDINAND”~REBEIRO IN FOR ZAHA LOAN..YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CONSIDERABLE..UTD MUST GET RID OF MEDIOCRITIES WITHOUT DELAY TO SALVAGE UTD SEASON…GIGGS AND FERDINAND HAS NOTHING TO OFFERS UTD FROM NOW ON..IF THE DUO DECIDES TO BE GREEDY THEY LOOSE MY RESPECT TOTALLY.

U really must be sick upstairs kagawa plus cash for pogba? U must be joking you sound insane.kagawa is world class but doesn’t get real chance to impress, when he gets chances he is surely under pressure to impress and that doesn’t do a player’s morale any good. Same with Juan Mata of chelsea let’s say Mata + Cash for Januzaj. How does that sound freak.

Kagawa is good but he has not got enough playing time to get the consistency going. Remember his hat-trick against Norwich last year. He appeared so calm in front of goal…..real class!!

We dont need sneijder, moyes has £100m at his disposal and he should sign quality players that wil serve us longer than 29 yrs sneijder.to me Koke, Gundogan, Ribeiro and luke shaw wil be perfect signings for united. Moyes, show other clubs we have the financial muscle to compete with madrid, PSG and city.

We have £100mill to spend? Since when? Someone better tell the Glaziers as I am sure that even they don’t know about that one!
I have feeling us United fans are yet again going to feel let down in the transfer market once the window closes.

those names that you mentioned above won’t come to United…they just use United as a bargaining chip to get their terms improved with their current clubs.

I agree that we need to rid ouselves from some deadwood and bring in fresh and vibrant players that will not only change the way we play but inspire those that remain in the side. I also believe that David M should be shown the Exit before the end of this season as the last 6 months has shown why he has won nothing in the last 6 years and his only aspiration and succeSs had been to keep Everton as a top 8 team. Look where they are now and where Man U is ?? #MoyesOutNOW

What do u expect from a mediocre coach? What was Moyes’s achievement throught his eleven yrs at Everton. I think Ferguson got this one wrong. Pls give us the right coach and he will sign the worldclass players required @ ManU

MOYES. PLEASE THINK BACK INTO 2008 AND SEE THE TEAM THAT AID SIR TO SUCCESS. MOYES CHANGE THE TRADITION OF THE PAST AND THOSE THAT WILL PLAY AND CREATE COMPETITION IN THE TEAM. I STRONGLY BELIEVE SMALLING CANNOT PLAY 2 FLANK. UNITED IS BIGGER THAN MANAGING. CANT WE HAVE PLAYERS LIKE CITY, PSG, R.MADRIL AND SIGN PLAYER THAN PUTTING THE FANS ON PENDING. MOYES. SIR BROUGHT WHO CAN GIVE HIM SUCCESS. BRING IN YOURS

Mr.Moyes we the fans of man utd need at least 4 new faces this january. I’m afraid if man utd didn’t sign players this season we are going to be like Liverpool

  15. sally

    Jan 3, 2014 at 6:52 am

Heck, Moyes must go now together with Cleverly, Nani, Valencia, Hernandez, Giggs, Rio, Evra, Evans and Anderson. Go 4 Klopp- sign class players such as Garay, Mangala, Herrera, Ribeiro, Koke, Coentrao, Lewandowski, Di Maria and Reus! If not- no Champions League and not even Europa League for Man U. Pathetic.

  16. sally

    Jan 3, 2014 at 6:55 am

If not, then say BYE BYE to Rooney and RVP. They will not stay with LOSERS!

  17. Blaizer Ntshiamisang

    Jan 3, 2014 at 7:11 am

The defensive abilities of Chris Smalling and Johny Evans were awful in the last game. Moyes needs to overhaul the defense too. Manchester United needs better defenders and the longer such mediocrity is allowed the more we will keep slumping. Adebayor had all freedom and this was a disgrace in front of the home crowd. Moyes has to go and look for fresh blood or else his job is on the line.

    Jan 3, 2014 at 8:13 am

hmm!i supported all dat ve bin said here, but d only tin i want 2 say is dat, moyes should get rid of players lik giggs, chicharito, fletcher, anderson, nani, cleverly, vidic and fellani and buy at least 2 defenders,2 creative(attacking) midfielders,2defendsive midfielders 4 now.

  19. Trevor

    Jan 3, 2014 at 10:04 am

Well if Moyes does sign any players, it will be a lot different to Fergies. Fergie bought
Players that would enhance the money going to the Glazers like Hernandez and Kagawa.
The money coming in from them two countries must be enormous.
Moyes needs two full backs and three midfielders to make this team good again.
Swap Hernandez for Mata from Chelsea fora start then work from there
    .

    Jan 3, 2014 at 11:27 am

Moyes, p/s improve 4 next game.
training method, singing to level of utd. Enhance the utd money 4 sign sneijde & baines.utd needs 2 attac (AMF) (out nani & young) 2 creative (out anderson, flecter& giggs) 1 CF (Chicharito) 1 full back LB (out evra ).

As soon as last season ended i found myself searching the web each day to see if we were spending the money to strengthen our team . I sat back continually frustrated as the top teams added quality to there squads and Moyes and Woodward did nothing , but even im shocked at how tactically inept and poor we have been all season . Instead of employing Fergies mate we should have got a proven world class manager , i just have no confidence in Moyes

I believe in moyes! but he shouldn’t train the team so hard. footballers play better with a smile on the face.

sell fellani and buy some quality!

    • Touljier

      Jan 3, 2014 at 3:53 pm

I am afraid that Moyes wont sell Fellaini. Remember, its his idea of a World Class Player !

Your all in a dream land! Utd dont have 100m to spend on 3/4 players!

The only reason moyes was given the job was because the board thought he could do a job at utd without spending millions like he did at everton!

The glazers have totally fkd up utd and riddled the club with debt.

Lets all look forward to a liverpool like era finishing 5th to 8th place until some rich arabs come and buy the club and spend good money whilst getting rid of the dead wood like nani, valencia, cleverly, young, ferdinand, anderson etc etc..!!

Man Utd keep claiming they’ve got 100 million so why don’t they spend it on Juan Mata-30 million, Sneijder 12 million, Luke Shaw 15 million, Koke 20 million, Barkley 20 million.

United play some poor players that will Neva play in 1st eleven even in clubs like Newcastle or Martinez’s Everton. Plus Moyes lack the character needed 2 be our coach – low on confidence, poor body language and countenance that can only send fear to below average players we currently display in the team
