Manchester in 64.5m star chase – reports

If you subscribe to the theory that Manchester United are performing badly due to a weak squad of players then you may be happy for David Moyes to stay on at the club beyond the end of the season.

Because the Manchester United manager looks like a man who wants to embark on some serious retail therapy come July. The areas that you would imagine he would want to strengthen are the defence, particularly left back, and the middle of the park where the engine room looks a bit knackered.

But the forward line remains competitive right now. Nevertheless A Bola adds weight to a story, that suggests Manchester United will try to buy a top striker in the summer, with the ITV rumour column also getting in on the act. A Bola says:

The English Press revealed that Manchester United will be forced to hire a striker to fill the possible exits of Wayne Rooney or Van Persie, with the name of Edinson Cavani (PSG) arising in the top of the list of options of manager David Moyes.

The suggestion that one or both of RvP and Rooney could leave this summer cannot be dismissed out of hand after the season that Manchester United have suffered.

If this were to happen then who better than Cavani to step into the breach and add some feel good factor to Manchester United? The Uruguayan, who moved to PSG for around 64.5m Euros in the summer, has been on fire for the club this season scoring 20 goals in just 29 appearances for the club.

Despite this stellar start there has been constant speculation about him leaving the club.

We think that he would be an expensive but superb addition to the Manchester United team, regardless of who leaves or stays at the club this summer.

Let’s take a look at him in action. CLICK FOR CAVANI
