Manchester City target their next Yaya Toure – report

Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale. Players who left England for vast amounts of money and players that the fans and management of the selling clubs probably thought they could replace.

But, for all the money in the world, that would still be a nigh on impossible task. Because these guys are unique. The same could be said of Yaya Toure.

Despite the incredible wealth of Manchester City, they are going to seriously struggle to find a like for like replacement of commensurate quality. They may find a player who can do some of what Toure does. But to find a player who fulfils all the tasks that Toure does at City? Well, good luck to the scouts on that one.

But they may have the best option in their sights. There has been talk of Sami Khedira moving to The Premier League for ages but so far no one has take the plunge. Latest reports suggest that Manchester City may make a move.

MANCHESTER CITY have entered the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.

Champions League winners Real and Khedira have been unable to agree terms on a new deal and the club are likely to sell the World Cup winner in January if their asking price, believed to be in the region of £8m, is met.

He won’t score the ridiculous goals that Toure does so regularly. And he won’t tear through teams on his own. But this is a wonderful athlete. A great passer of the ball and a player of similar influence on the field of play to Toure in his prime.

At 27 we think that he’s about to have his best years and he’s one of the few players who we believe could begin to fill the shoes of the best midfielder that The Premier League has seen.

Let’s see Khedira in action. Manchester City fans: good long-term solution?
