Manchester City: 2 stellar talents increasingly likely to join – report
There are all sorts of reports coming out the press today about who Manchester City will sign this summer. If you believe all the rumours then another summer splurge looks on the cards.
But we have separated the wheat from the chaff for you and we believe that two of the rumours have legs. It appears that Manchester City are going back to their unofficial feeder club Arsenal for starters.
This time it’s for right back Bacary Sagna. After taking Gael Clichy a couple of years back there have been persistent rumours that Sagna will leave The Gunners at the end of this season and Manchester City seem as if they’re in pole position to sign him up- providing the Frenchman with on one last massive contract.
The Daily Mail says that talks are scheduled after an apparent impasse in contract negotiations at Arsenal:
Bacary Sagna will hold talks with Manchester City after the FA Cup final later this month.
The Arsenal right-back is in the midst of a long-running contract wrangle with the club and looks almost certain to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer when his deal expires.
Another player who has regularly being linked to Manchester City since the winter is Porto midfielder Fernando. The Mirror reckons a deal is now close:
Manuel Pellegrini’s Blues tried to sign the 26-year-old in January but are believed to have made a breakthrough over a potential £20million fee in fresh talks
Fernando, along with highly sought after Porto centre back Eliaquim Mangala, seems to be a top target for Manchester City this summer.
While both players would be solid additions to the squad we wonder whether either would immediately stroll into the first team.
Let’s have a look at Fernando in action. Manchester City fans: are these two good signings or would you rather spend the cash on one elite player this summer?
