The more sceptical amongst the Liverpool faithful are starting to think that the bubble has burst. After an imperious start to the league season, in which Liverpool seemingly scored goals at will, the defeat at Hull and the loss of Daniel Sturridge has taken some of the gloss off.

While it is pessimistic to think that Liverpool won’t be challenging come the end of the season, it’s obvious that they don’t have as deep a squad as some of their rivals.

This transfer window will be very important to Brendan Rodgers. Ideally he needs to buy a player for each of his main departments – defence, midfield and attack.

Liverpool are today being linked with two forwards. We say that The Guardian says that The Mirror says:

Burnley striker Danny Ings has been turning plenty of heads with his performances this season. The 21-year-old’s 15 goals in 21 appearances have got antennae twitching in the Premier League. The Mirror reports that Liverpool are pondering a January move for the tyro, who would provide cover for first choice strike-force Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suárez.

In a really exciting bit of speculation, various sources also reckon that Liverpool will try to prise the brilliant Pedro from Barcelona.

The Mirror states:

Barcelona winger Pedro has put the Premier League on red alert, as he is ready to quit the Nou Camp.

The report says that United and Liverpool are interested in the 26 your old who has been further marginalised under the management of the new Barcelona coach. It goes without saying that this guy would improve Livepool’s squad. We think that he would be a brilliant signing for any team in The Premier League. Let’s see him in action.
