Liverpool: Sterling to stay?

It is being widely reported that Raheem Sterling will start the friendly against Sweden tonight. In so doing, the Liverpool prodigy will become the 5th youngest player ever to don the England shirt at senior level. Many think that this is simply a taster for Sterling, before he returns to the periphery of the squad, for England’s next competitive games in the Spring. But we think that the combination of Sterling’s quality and England’s dearth of real talent out wide could mean that Raheem could be in the England team to stay.

Sterling’s inclusion in the squad has been somewhat overlooked by the press, who seem smitten on Wilfried Zaha. But the Liverpool forward has risen to prominence so quickly that he is now rested for his club’s less important games. Sterling is already regarded as one of Liverpool’s best players by Brendan Rodgers.

It will be really exciting to see the boy turning out for his country in what should be a youthful side that will include Steven Caulker, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck.

We think that the game will end in a draw and you can get odds of 2/1 on such an outcome with William Hill. It’s included in our pretty epic and pretty crazy midweek accumulator. Join up, and you could win £150k from a solitary squid. It’s a long shot but it might just work…. and it’s gotta be worth a quid….good luck!
