Liverpool linked with deadline deal for top winger

It’s panic stations at Arsenal where Theo Walcott has reportedly refused the club’s final contract offer of £75,000 per week, according to The Guardian. There has been speculation about Walcott’s future for some time, with Chelsea and Manchester City supposedly interested in taking the player.

But Liverpool is perhaps a more obvious location for the England forward. Chelsea have already signed Victor Moses and prefer to play a narrow formation. Manchester City have just released Adam Johnson but seem intent on strengthening other areas. They do however retain an interest in the player.

This perhaps leaves Liverpool as prime suitors for the pacey winger. Walcott seems to draw polemic opinion. Some think that he is more of an athlete than a footballer. Others think that he is the only English winger who can really make a difference in big games. While he sometimes lacks a final ball, he would certainly add pace to the Liverpool attack and give the team another offensive outlet. For his pace alone, Walcott would be a good addition to the squad at Liverpool and for around £15m Brendan Rodgers may well fancy a punt.

Do you think Walcott would be a good player for Liverpool?

he,s in the last year of his contract, 15mil? too much 10mil yes if not next year he will be free…wenger might hold on to him till jan. then he will have to reduce price…i think he would do well at liverpool… at city and chelsea he would be sitting on the bench a lot, but if its about money its city or chelsea for him…. if its about football its liverpool for him….

We need somebody who can put the ball into the back of the net, and although theo walcott, would add some much needed pace, we need a goalscore of note, or even a player who has hit 40 goals last season in a lower league? i would take a punt on Justin Rhodes, the lad knows where the goal is.

Over-hyped, never lifts his head up. Only a slight improvement on Downing but just as likely to pull on an invisibility cloak during a game. This is more media speculation along the lines: LFC were idiot enough to buy Downing, they might want to collect useless wingers, Hence we are linked with Johnson and Walcott, foolish really, given that Dalglish has gone and Rodgers is clearly no mug. LFC now have two good wingers and Downing will be on his way by January.

No Liverpool need a winger who can deliver great final balls the pace is an asset but there has got to be better options at a cheaper price also a clinical striker is more of a necessity at present.

Walcott is nothing but a one-trick pony. Surely, Liverpool do not require any more of such mediocre creatures? After all, in the Anfield stable, there is already a donkey (Carroll), a meek lamb (Henderson), a pair of mules (Adam & Downing), a sickly bulldog (Cole) and the ever-present jackasses (Carragher & Lucas). Ahhhh, what is one more.

Miles, before you throw insults around a people far more talanted than you have a look in the mirror, you will see the biggest Jackass looking back at you!

Liverpool don’t need to spend money on Walcott, he is overated and overpriced, LFC have a player that goes by the name of Suso that can step up from the reserves and deliver much more quality than Theo. Sorry Theo, don’t understand why you don’t sign the contract at Arsenal, they may not be a top club but they are certainly big enough for you.
