Liverpool – Kenny has to buy Belgian

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUa73LzpPbA&feature=related

There are two Belgian players that should be available in the summer and would make a difference to any team. We have seen, with the signing of Luis Suarez, that when Liverpool really want their man they can still entice the top players in the world to Anfield.

What Kenny needs to do now is go out and steal a march on the countless rivals looking to sign Eden Hazard in the summer. Recent quotes from the Belgian wonderkid suggest that he is open to a move to England but doesn’t seem to be thinking exclusively about any team in particular (although he has referred to Tottenham and Arsenal among others). Meanwhile Zinedine Zidane has labelled the prodigious creator as a star of the future.

This signing, however expensive, would represent no gamble at all for Liverpool FC. At 21 Hazard’s value can only increase as you simply can’t imagine him having a stinker. He’s from the very top drawer of football talent and how Liverpool could do with a creative midfielder of this pedigree to ignite and gel the team from back to front. Dribbling, shooting, vision and pace – in many ways Hazard is a very rich man’s Joe Cole – ironically, his current team mate at French club Lille.

This move may seem like idle speculation but Kenny must surely like the player and he could at least try to make Hazard feel that Liverpool is the club for him. Because Hazard is certainly the player for Liverpool.

Jan Vertonghan, the Ajax centre back and captain, is the second top Belgian that will be on the market this summer. Liverpool have Skertel and Agger playing well at the back and the need for another defender may be less keenly felt. But, Vertonghen is more than just a conventional stopper. He is a really progressive defender in the mould of Thomas Vermaelen at Arsenal. He can affect the game from the back and also has great leadership qualities. Check out his vid here.

In short, Kenny could do a lot worse than buying Belgian this summer.

We would all love these two to sign in particular Hazard but this depends on whether Liverpool qualify for Champions League otherwise our opportunity is gone and he’ll go to any of the top 4 teams next season. That will apply for any other classy player available in the summer.

I wrote off finishing in the top 4 after losing to Arsenal a must win game but am still praying we come through.

Solves our lack of winger on right with pace and trickery. Young. Will look good in the red of Liverpool – pay whatever is necessary and take the gamble

Too late on Hazard – Just forget it – the other guy is “ify” and I suspect new owners are going to sell Suarez – hope I am wrong but doubt it.

I agree! I think they will sell Suarez! If we do then we need to recoup as much money as we can and NOT buy British and throw money down the drain!
      Buy:
Cavani, Hazard, Marin and Martinez while keeping Suarez!i
      Sell:
Cole, Maxi, Spearing, Carragher, Aurelio, Carroll and Wilson!
      Promote:
      Sterling, Suso and
      Being back Aqua man

Extremely disappointed that Liverpool did not get him 2 seasons ago, when Benitez was in charge and Liverpool played Lille in Europa League. Now it will be quite impossible if Liverpool failed to qualify for Champions League.

We have Toni Silva, Raheem Sterling, Adam Morgan, Jao Carlos Teixeira, Marc Pelosi, and Suso in the Academy that have as much potential as Eden Hazard and Jan Vertonghan IMO. What is the point in having an Academy like Liverpools if we dont use them and promote them to the first team??? Pep Guardiola even said our Academy is one of the best in world football!!! Players like these mentioned will save the club millions in the future, we have another Mexican player coming in April when he turns 18, he is unbelievable

Did people not see the Carling Cup Final? The owners were more than happy with Suarez, hugging him and shaking his hand, why would they get rid of him, because Alex Ferguson called him a disgrace? Get over it, he’s not leaving, Kenny wants to build for the future and Suarez is in Dalglish’s plans, Aurelio is out of contract in the summer so will be released, Joe Cole could’ve been a good player for us this season if we had’ve held onto him but because he left just shows he doesn’t want to play for Liverpool again, Aquilani is light-weight and cant cut it in England, £8m for him at least… Carragher will stay on but will find it hard to get into the team the way Skrtel and Agger are playing as a partnership… Hazard wants Champions League football and with us being 10 points behind Arsenal for 4th place its not looking likely, I think Man City will pay big money for him or possibly PSG or Barcelona/Real Madrid… We should continue to build for the future, all we really need is an out and out striker, we create on average 15 good chances per game!!! Buying young talent is the way forward, 2-3 years time we’ll have an unbelievable squad… If we had £40m to spend on 1 player in the summer i’d go all out for Higuain off Real Madrid, thats all we’d need to challenge, our squad is quite strong, players like Downing and Carroll are starting to find some form… Suarez, Higuain and Bellamy in attack sounds good to me!!

he’ll not come to us in a million years, he’ll have all the best and richest teams throwing money at him in the summer something we just don’t have. having said that, he’d make a real difference should pigs fly and we actually sign him. i wouldn’t say we can’t afford to buy him, it would be his wages, how can we compete when teams will throw 200k a week at him. the defender though would be a waste of money, we already have agger and skirt as our main partnership, the Belgian wouldn’t improve on that so why spend money on a player who’d be on the bench half the time when other Areas need improving more.
