Liverpool: BR to finally get it right in the transfer market? Report

Reus - Top Drawer Talent

No Brainer

Let’s face it, you could easily make a case for Brendan Rodgers having failed in the transfer market since he’s been at Liverpool – many readers have done so on a regular basis. And while we can certainly see the potential in players like Moreno, Can and Markovic, you might say that the only out and out success for Rodgers has been Daniel Sturridge.

He has arguably coached the likes of Suarez, Flanagan and Henderson to a higher level, but all of these were signed by others or came through the ranks.

£20m for Lovren looks expensive, Sakho is all over the shop at times and Borini has been an expensive mistake so far. So Brendan Rodgers is very much under pressure to bring in a really top player – someone who will immediately improve the side.

With so many clubs seemingly after him, Liverpool will do exceedingly well to acquire his services. But, if it’s possible, Rodgers simply has to snap up Marco Reus.

Recent reports suggest that Liverpool will offer the player a fortune in wages to join them in January but he would worth every penny.

Liverpool to gazump Man Utd and Chelsea by making Marco Reus their highest paid star ever

Our feeling about Liverpool this season is that they are suffering from a lack of the quality service from out wide that the likes of Balotelli could so benefit from. Reus is one of the most two-footed players you will ever see and has superb distribution from either flank.

But he can also play through the middle as an attacking midfielder. Add to this his unbelievable goalscoring record of 89 in 246 club games – including 43 in 92 for current club Dortmund – and you have an absolute gem. A player good enough to be the next star of Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers can please the fans enormously and improve his perceived transfer record in one fell swoop by signing the German international.

Let’s see him in action. Liverpool fans: can you get him in Jan?
