Liverpool could build for future with treble signing – reports

Rodgers investing in the future?

If I was a Liverpool fan right now I would be absolutely pleased as Punch. For so long it seemed as if the club was in complete stasis – too good to be in any serious danger but miles away from the competing with the best on a footy or financial level. In some ways Liverpool were the club that The Premier League left behind.

But, with what some would call a saviour at the helm in the shape of Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool look like they could beat anyone again. They are playing like champions elect right now. That’s not to say they will win the title – we still think Manchester City are too good to drop too many more points – but they are once again playing like a Liverpool vintage.

They look like a top team with plenty of goals and quality all over the park. Yet some Liverpool fans are still concerned about the direction of the club under the Irishman – mainly due to some dodgy signings which have taken place along the way.

But we would rather focus on the future. And, if reports have any substance, Rodgers is looking to do the same with three relative youngsters.

The Daily Mail today opines that Liverpool have been watching two talented young centre-backs.

Liverpool track Nottingham Forest’s Jamaal Lascelles and Sheffield United’s Harry Maguire

Nottingham Forest’s Jamaal Lascelles and Sheffield United’s Harry Maguire were also on Richardson’s radar.

There appears to be a lot of interest in both of these guys. Chelsea have been linked to MaGuire over the last few weeks, while the list of Lascelles admirers seems to grow by the month.

Meanwhile The Express reckons that a Liverpool deal could be in the offing for Valencia’s Dani Parejo:

…the 24-year-old’s rise to prominence has not gone unnoticed by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

Parejo’s versatility is thought to be another factor in the player’s favour with Liverpool encouraged by the fact he can play in both advanced and defensive midfield roles.

We think that the midfield will be subjected to serious media attention over the next year or so as Liverpool attempt to replace the talents of Steven Gerrard for the long-term.

Parejo, who had a stint at QPR, has played 19 times for the Spain U21s, scoring 5 goals in the process. Let’s see the lad in action.

If Liverpool had good fullbacks like City, Arsenal or Chelsea have and a good midfielder I think that would definitely be a title winning team. Rodgers is building the team like Dortmund did with less money than the others, flowing pacey football, and good young players coming through but Liverpool keep their star players.

Rodgers has made some dodgy signings, Allen £15million?, Aspas, Alberto, Assaidi, Borini, there’s £45 million of waste, two play elsewhere others warm bench. Sturridge and Coutinho have paid off for him (fortunately), Illori and Sakho could be the future center backs and Sissokho and Moses signed on loan are woeful. So that’s TWO of his signings that are regulars in the team, two for the future (maybe), the rest will not get a chance, therefore wont make it at Anfield. So after around £70 million we don’t have much do we?

I don’t want benitez back at liverpool but i know he is a great manager who have champions leagues experience but i prefer Brendan Rodgers because he will bring back the glory days at anfield in which we have lost in the past 3 to 4 season now, in RODGERS we trust.
