Liverpool close to next major deal for powerhouse – report
Liverpool have decent strikers already in the form of newly signed Rickie Lambert and Daniel Sturridge.
But goals are, of course, the most valuable commodity in football and Liverpool will most certainly need to address the vacuum created by the sudden departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
It isn’t going to be easy but it does afford Liverpool the opportunity to perhaps buy another two strikers and have a really healthy number of four major forwards for the squad next season.
One of those could well be Wilfried Bony of Swansea City.
Liverpool close to deal for Swansea striker Wilfried Bony
Rodgers believes Bony, who struck 25 goals for Swansea last season, can help fill the formidable gap left by Suarez’s departure to Barcelona.
His contract has a £20m release clause, which Rodgers is prepared to pay his former club.
We believe that Bony would be an excellent addition to Liverpool. He scored 26 goals in all competitions in a remarkable debut campaign for his club last season. And, even though he’s a really pacey, live wire player, we were amazed to see what a well built player he looked at The World Cup. Despite his pace he’s a proper unit of a player.
This combination of speed and strength is perfect for The Premier League and we think that he would suit Liverpool down to the ground.
At 25 years of age the 6 footer has 28 caps for his country, The Ivory Coast, and has scored an impressive ten goals for them too.
With other teams clearly interested in the player Liverpool would be well advised to get a deal done as soon as possible for this guy.
Let’s see some of his highlights. Liverpool fans can Bony be your main man next season or would you rather Rodgers targeted another striker?
