You beauty

The transfer window can be a painstaking time for clubs – not least Arsenal this summer in their reported pursuit of the brilliant German international Sami Khedira.

We all know that Arsenal need a commanding midfield general more than any other addition to their team this summer. And while there has been talk today that Jack Wilshere may be asked to play the holding midfield role next season we think that the addition of Khedira could make all the difference for Arsenal.

We actually think that Jack Wilshere would do an excellent job in front of the back five. He’s been underused at Arsenal due to injury and form but he surely deserves a place in the team moving forward.

But every great team has two top players for each position and Arsenal should do all they can to sign Khedira anyway.

To that end, there has been some potentially positive news over the last 24 hours, as reports today suggest that he is keen to come to Arsenal.

His Germany team mate and Arsenal star Lukas Podolski has suggested that Khedira would like to come to The Emirates. The Metro reports:

Sami Khedira is still hopeful of sealing a move to Arsenal this summer despite suggestions that the Gunners have given up trying to sign him.

And Podolski is quoted as saying:

‘I didn’t have to try to [convince Khedira to join Arsenal],’ he said.

‘Sami knows how much fun he could have with me, Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker at Arsenal.’

We would dearly love to see Khedira, or a player of his quality, signing for Arsenal this summer. It’s exactly what the club needs and it will be so frustrating if Arsenal reach next May in the same position as they have for the last 8 years – close but cigarless.

Let’s remind ourselves of the virtues of the brilliant midfielder who has completely put his injury problems behind him. Arsenal fans: should Wenger push the boat out for this guy?

jack wilshere is NOT a holding madfield player, yes arteta wasnt a def/mid but did a good job(of sorts)but wilshere dosnt have the temperment to be a holding player, his knoledge of tackling come out of the same beano as paul scholes, both would run through a brick wall but both cant time a tackle between them.Sorry but we need to buy someone,we could have had garath barry but were to slow(as usual)we could try for Etienne Capoue(spurs)we could offer 5mill for a player we were looking at and theres Mohamed Diame(WHU)he still has a 3-5mil buy out clause, trouble is we(FANS)want to see us spend shit loads of money on world cup players they dont always come off,we should stick to players we know can play premier football, players who have proved they can hack it,but plese dont put wilshere in d/m position.
