Sensational

Real Madrid have a habit of making seemingly impossible transfers happen. In recent years they have raided The English Premier League for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, to name but a few. Each of these guys looked extremely difficult to prise away from their clubs, who were desperate to hold on to their stars.

But, it appears that there is a figure on the head of most players. And Real Madrid are one of the few clubs in the world who dare to find out what that figure is.

One of the latest Premier League stars to be linked with the Spanish giants is Raheem Sterling. The fleet-footed forward couldn’t get into his team a year ago but such has been his rise to prominence that, by the time The World Cup came around, he was arguably England’s most dangerous player.

Reports in England on Friday suggest that his club are determined to sign him up to a new contract, with Real Madrid supposedly interested. At present he’s on a £30k a week deal which expires in 2017. Although that’s behind the wildest dreams of most 19 year olds, it’s a comparatively small amount for one of the future stars of world football and the new contract may triple his current wages. But the source suggests that he’s in no rush to sign a new deal.

Our bet is that he will want to stay in England for a few more years and develop his game in familiar surroundings. But we can easily imagine Real Madrid wanting him. Although he’s been played as number 10 recently, we think that he would be a devastating winger in Spain. He’s got pace to burn and regularly embarrasses opposition defenders with his guile and quick feet.

He’s a dream of a footballer who would speed up most sides. Although Real Madrid have Bale and Ronaldo, we think that this lad would certainly push for a place in the side already – he’s that good.

Let’s see him in action. Real Madrid fans: would you like to see this England star in the team?
