Have Manchester United found a replacement for Giggs?

14 months ago Thomas Ince joined Blackpool as part of the deal that took Charlie Adam to Liverpool. Ince, the son of Manchester Untied legend Paul, had become frustrated with a youth academy infrastructure that Blackpool manager Ian Holloway described as having  ‘no way through’. It’s a deal that could well come back to haunt Liverpool. The speedy winger has drawn great praise from his current boss.

‘God knows what he could do with one of their shirts on now.’

‘He has been absolutely unplayable for us and has been outstanding in such a short period of time,’

‘Lord knows what he could do with an England shirt on his back now. His end product is absolutely top, top drawer.

The word on the street is that Manchester United want him. Talksport spent time on the speculation yesterday, suggesting that Manchester United were front runners for his signature – but that dad, Paul, would have the final say.

That doesn’t sound like The Guvnor to me. He was such a gentle, quiet lad at Manchester United.

Unlike his father, Tom Ince is a wide man, with a killer left foot. Some say he moves like Ryan Giggs and could be a natural replacement for the Welsh legend. Certainly United have had problems in that area since Giggsy lost his pace. But it will take something very special before soccersweep starts likening a young hopeful to one of the very best players in Premier League history. We might agree in 20 years but for now let’s see what you’ve got lad.

We will survey the sitch with interest on behalf of your wonderful selves.
