Arsenal

Forget Fabregas – Arsenal need the return of this guy far more

It was definitely difficult to hear Cesc Fabregas imply that Arsenal turned down the chance to re-sign him when he decided he was moving back to England this summer.

The new Chelsea player would clearly have come back to The Emirates had he been wanted by Wenger.

And of course it is a tough decision for the Arsenal boss to make – but, when all is said and done, probably the right one.

Arsenal have gone creative midfielder crazy over the last few years and they certainly don’t need any more.

Perhaps if they had sold Ozil they could have found room for Cesc. But most managers, including Wenger, are probably too proud to do that one year after signing him for so much money.

But we actually think that another ex-Arsenal and Barcelona player would be much more suitable for a return to the club.

Alex Song is reportedly surplus to requirements at Barcelona for perhaps around 10 million quid Wenger could make a super investment on a player that Arsenal currently need much more than Fab.

He may not be a commanding presence like Yaya Toure but he is certainly a very mobile, intelligent, neat and tidy footballer – someone who could sit in front of the back four and give the team that little bit more solidity as the rest of them bomb on. About Diaby was supposed to be that man but he’s always injured. Song has a much better fitness record and, at 26, has years left in the tank.

We still think Arsenal should sign another midfield general this summer aswell as Song. But surely bringing a player of this quality and style into the the squad would do Arsenal no harm and cost a relatively small amount of money.

So, controversial as it sounds, we think Song to Arsenal is a better move than Fabregas to Arsenal this summer. Arsenal fans: what you think?

song wont be a good addition to the club.he was never a midfield general for us.he had put us in trouble many times but he is actually something more than a deffender. He has a very good range of passing and can be a backup option only.

I’d rather be castrated and have my eyes burnt out than watch that donk lumber around chasing shadows.

Seriously, Song was a liability in DM. Poor positioning, always wanting to go forward, no discipline, gave away so many frees in dangerous places.

Mourinho has never given us sweet fa in the past and what does Wenger do he gives that Guy

one of our legends it makes me and many other Gooners very angry, sick inside, and many of us will never forgive Wenger and I hope that Fab will make him regret this folly. Instead of covering the world cup he should be active in the market and coming up with somebody really good to make up for his stupid error..The reason he signed Ozil at the last moment and paid big money was quite simply to save his own skin because I’m sure he’d have gone if he hadn’t…To finish if it was the other way round would Mourinho have given us one of his stalwarts. Nooooooooooo! WAAAAAAAY!

Definitely!! He’s exactly what we need and obtainable for a reasonable amount of money. We didn’t need an extra no.10 (we’ve got up to 4 players who could play there) we need a defensive hard-working ball-winner like Alex Song.
