Prodigy Alert

Everton are reportedly chasing young winger Adama Traore. The Merseyside club are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season and the 18 year old is seen as a good additional according to The Daily Post.

Everton are facing a shortage of attacking talent for the upcoming season thanks to loan spells ending for both Romelu Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu. Each player put in impressive performances throughout their year-long loans, playing important roles in what was a successful season for Everton.

Although the club are also looking to make permanent signings, in order to ensure stability for the long-term future, they also perhaps recognise that further loans could be helpful as they offer much better value for money.

Roberto Martinez faces a tough battle to land the talented youngster though. A number of other clubs are interested in Traore, including the likes of Southampton, Manchester United and Ajax.

Everton may feel confident in landing the player though as they have established a good working relationship with the Spanish club.
The successful loan spell of Gerard Deulofeu has shown Barcelona that Everton are a good choice to develop young players, while Roberto Martinez also plays an attacking brand of football with crisp passing – this may convince Barcelona that the best place to continue his development is at Everton.

Traore is one of Barcelona’s most exciting young players. He rose through the youth ranks, which he has been a part of since he was 8 years old, at the club and broke into the Barcelona B side last season. The winger enjoyed an impressive debut season where he also made an appearance for the senior side in La Liga against Granada CF.

He also went on to make a Champions League appearance when he replaced Cesc Fabregas playing against Ajax. In addition to his blossoming club career, he has also played for Spain at U16, U17 and U19 levels.

Let’s see the lad in action. Everton fans: exciting potential addition?
