Brilliant player

Everton have reportedly taken the lead to land Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. The Toffees may have beaten off interest from Newcastle, Arsenal and local rivals Liverpool to land the exciting forward according to recent reports inThe Express.

The 23 year old has been at Lyon almost his whole career. He has played over 100 games for the French club and has found the net 38 times during that time, in addition to having a prolific record at youth level for France.

Lyon are hoping to keep hold the of the talented youngster but it appears that his wage demands are proving to be too expensive to allow for a contract extension. This has opened the door for a potential move away.

Everton fans will be hoping that the club solves their attacking problems sooner rather later. Last season they had the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Gerard Deulofeu and Lacina Traore in their front line, although the 23 year old Ivorian suffered an injury that kept him out of the side for the majority of the season.

New Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has already confirmed that Deulofeu will not be returning to Everton on loan as he plans to use him in the Catalan side in the coming season. The winger had an excellent season in The Premier League and was an important figure in an impressive Everton side.

Meanwhile the chances of Romelu Lukaku spending another season on loan with Robert Martinez’s are in the balance. Although he doesn’t appear to be in Jose Mourinho’s plans for next season, there has been little to suggest that a move to Everton is likely.

That has left Steven Naismith as their only established goal scoring forward, although he has often appeared off the bench rather than starting games.
