Having seen Tottenham play Everton at the weekend we weren’t massively impressed with Tottenham’s performance. they were slow out of the blocks and were out passed for chances of the game.

But how many time shave we seen Tottenham play well int he past and come away with nothing. Playing below average and winning is a very good habit to get into. Tim Sherwood would snap your hand off, whilst smiling, if you offered him that same result for Tottenham tonight.

As for Newcastle, they too may still harbour faint hopes a top four finish. After the dramatic goings on behind the scenes this season Newcastle can be extremely grateful to Alan Pardew for keeping them in such a competitive position in the league and they should at least expect to finish in The Europa League positions. But the sale of Yohan Cabaye will have weakened Newcastle considerably – quite how much we could find out tonight against top opposition.

We think that this is anyone’s game. Newcastle need the win if they want to get closer to Tottenham in the league but Spurs are picking up momentum.
