Chelsea: Strongest XI with Miranda

Seriously good side

So Jose says that Chelsea won’t be signing any more players this summer.

But a couple of days after he made those comments Didier Drogba rocked back up at Chelsea.

And we certainly won’t be placing any money down at the bookies on the idea of Chelsea’s transfer business being over for the summer.

There have been persistent links with the Brazilian centre-back Miranda of Atletico Madrid.

And we also think that Chelsea are still short of one more really stellar striker.

But if Miranda is the only other player to join the club this summer Chelsea are still going to have a seriously difficult task in squeezing their best players into the side.

It’s a common saying that a squad can be judged by the strength of the bench. Chelsea’s bench will be sensational this coming season.

It looks as if Courtois could play in goal for Chelsea, at least to start with.

And the signing of Filipe Luis means that Cesar Azpilicueta will, more than likely, move over to the right. If Miranda joins up then we would put him alongside Terry in the defence.

The front six is more difficult to predict as Chelsea have so many good players going forward.

We do know that Jose Mourinho ives a 4-2-3-1 formation so we would have Fabregas and Matic as the two in front of the defence.

The three positions in front of those are the most difficult to forecast. But, on form, we would go for Schurrle, Hazard and William with Diego Costa up top.

What a team. And what a bench.

Chelsea fans: take a look and let us have your thoughts. Is this the strongest Chelsea lineup?

CHELSEA (4-2-3-1): Courtois, Luis, Terry, Miranda, Azpilicueta – Fabregas, Matic – Schurrle, Hazard, Willian – Costa

Subs: Cech, Cahill, Ivanovic, Ramires, Oscar, Salah, Torres
