Chelsea: One of the world’s best linked to The Bridge

Chelsea’s problem of late is that they haven’t been able to kill off teams when in the ascendancy

Chelsea are going through yet another rough November as the manager Jose Mourinho looks to sustain a title challenge into the new year.

Of course few would doubt The Special One’s ability to do this and Chelsea have a squad of myriad talent.

Their problem, of late, is that they haven’t been able to kill off teams when they have been in the ascendancy.

Chelsea’s problem is similar Arsenal’s. They don’t have a world class striker in his pomp to finish off all the chances that are being put on a plate. Samuel Eto’o used to be world class of course and is improving by the week. He’s still a wonderful talent and a wonderful athlete. Meanwhile, for all the encouraging signs of late, Fernando Torres will never again be the player he was at Liverpool in our opinion.

But just imagine if Chelsea had someone like Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney or Radamel Falcao to put the chances away. A real world-class finisher at his best.

Well the rumours won’t go away about Chelsea making a bid for Falcao. The Guardian today reports that a January bid could well be made despite the fact that he’s only just moved to France with Monaco.

The Guardian today says:

he (Mourinho) is reported to be donning his safari suit and getting “back in the hunt” for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, who only moved to the Ligue 1 side last summer. Mourinho’s ongoing quest for a robust muscular, strong, athletic, goal-scoring Chelsea striker will take him to the King Baudouin stadium in Brussels on Friday night, where Belgium are scheduled to take on Falcao’s Colombia in a friendly. Should Falcao impress, rumours abound that Chelsea will prepare a British record £60m bid.

What a signing this would be. It seems improbable but you certainly wouldn’t put it past moneybags Chelsea.

So let’s have a look at the player in action. Chelsea fans, let us know if you think this guy would be the answer and the final piece in the jigsaw at the club.
