Chelsea – Mourinho looks set for The Bridge

It will be music to the ears of almost every Chelsea fan. As initially reported by soccersweep in January, and after being spotted apparently looking for houses in London last week, the man who brought title glory to Chelsea after a 50 year drought is being widely tipped for a return to the club.

Even a man as proud and astute as Roman Abramovich must realise that he made a mistake when he let the Portuguese leave under a cloud 5 years ago. The Oligarch sincerely thought that it would be easy to replace the ‘Special One’. But while Mourinho went on to make his CV look even more ridiculously good, Chelsea gravitated towards turmoil. This turmoil came to a head with the latest Abramovich decision, to appoint a ‘Mini Mourinho’ in the shape of Andre Villas-Boas. That idea soon unravelled as the owner realised that most of the club’s fans could do a better job in running the team and now, apparently, he has gone out and bought a large and overdue slice of humble pie.

If Jose does return, he will make a hugely emotional song and dance about it, before getting back to work to make Chelsea the best team in England once again. Sir Alex Ferguson et al will not be sitting comfortably this morning.
