It’s easy to make an argument for Chelsea having the most complete squad in The Premier League. Certainly their best eleven can rub shoulders with anything that England can offer.
But perhaps the greatest thing about Jose Mourinho is his relentless pursuit of perfection. He never seems to sit still, regardless of how good his team is. And he knows exactly what he wants in a player and a team.
Pace is one of the most important assets as far as Jose is concerned and Chelsea have been linked with more of it of late.
The Daily Star reckons that Chelsea are monitoring events in the midlands as they have their eye on a brilliant young winger from Villa.
The Blues are lurking with Villa battling to persuade (Jack) Grealish to sign a new contract.
Chelsea are long-term admirers of the exciting 18-year-old winger, but they have failed to lure him to Stamford Bridge despite making previous attempts as he has risen through the Villa ranks.
The cream always seems to rise to the top in English football and if this guy continues on his exciting trajectory then it may not be long before he does move to a club like Chelsea.
Grealish was on the bench against Chelsea two years ago at the age of just 16. He’s had a successful on a spell at Notts County since and now seems ready for some first team action.
But, with the way that Aston Villa have started their season, maybe the Lambert revolution is finally starting to pay dividends. Perhaps Villa can sate the desire and ambition of Grealish over the next few years.
Let’s see the lad in action.
