Soon the talk will be over and we will be at the business end of the transfer window. We are in a strange situation this season in that every team in The Premier League looks as if it might do some serious business. With so many points dropped by the big sides in the division they will all be scouring the market for potential reinforcements.

Chelsea are seemingly interested in another striker. Jose Mourinho has only been the club for a few months and will continue to mould the side in his image over the next couple of years. Last time he was at Chelsea his success came from having a battering ram of a centre forward in the shape of Didier Drogba.

With Samuel Eto’o coming to the end of his career and Fernando Torres still not back to his best, you would imagine Chelsea will try to sign another striker, sooner or later.

One name that has been linked to Chelsea over the last few months is Italian striker Mario Balotelli. Although seemingly happy in Italy, after a troubled stint in The Premier League, Balotelli does seem like the sort of player who would fit beautifully into the Jose Mourinho template. He’s an ox of a man but also has a fantastic first touch.

With the transfer window getting ever closer Paddy Power reckons that Chelsea is most likely to be Balotelii’s next permenant club.

We think that the Italian would be a fantastic signing for Chelsea and that he could become the talisman of the new Chelsea era. Chelsea fans, is this the sort of sign that you’d be looking for in January, or do you think another striker might be more suitable?

Let’s see Balotelli in recent action.
