Huge prospect linked

While it seems obvious that Chelsea need to strengthen up front during the winter window there are also rumours that Jose Mourinho may look to add defenders to his squad aswell.

The Special One has always been known for having solid back lines. He’s a manager that likes to shut up shop first and then deal with the attacking department – one who builds from the back.

Although we don’t believe a defender is an urgent need for the winter window Mourinho will always look to add quality when it becomes available.

Reports today suggests that Chelsea are in the hunt for you the young French defender Kurt Zouma. The player, who is currently banned until February, for a horror tackle which broker a player’s leg is generally regarded as one is the best young prospects in Europe. Arsenal are apparently also tracking the player.

The Mirror says:

Chelsea boss Mourinho is in pole position to sign Saint Etienne and France Under-21 defender Zouma and wants to land him in January.

But Arsenal counterpart Wenger is also keen on the £12million-rated centre-half after receiving strong recommendations from his trusted scout Gilles Grimandi.

Zouma is just 19 years of age, but has already played 51 times for French club St.Etienne, scoring four goals in the process. He really does look like a sensational prospect.

You can easily imagine Arsenal and Chelsea coveting this player but whether either is able to get him in January remains to be seen.
