Barcelona ready to make this goal machine their number one target – report
The suggestion in some areas of the English media is that Barcelona could be in pole position to sign Luis Suarez this summer.
English media outlet Talksport have done an interview with Spanish football expert Begona Perez, who reckons that Barcelona are best placed to sign the maestro.
Barcelona are ready to make Liverpool striker Luis Suarez their number one target this summer, according to talkSPORT’s Spanish football expert Begona Perez.
Perez told Talkpsort that Barcelona’s need for the player is greater than that of Real Madrid, who are supposed to be part of the titanic tussle for the Uruguayan’s signature this summer:
“The rumours are there, Suarez seems to be a priority for Barcelona in this transfer window,”
“I think Barcelona would have more room for Suarez than at Real Madrid.
“The interest has been there from Madrid but they already have Karim Benzema, who had a great season and is having an outstanding World Cup, and they obviously have[Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Gareth] Bale – there’s no room for Suarez in that team.
“Barcelona are eager to forget about last season [where they were well beaten to the La Liga title by Atletico Madrid] and playing Suarez alongside Neymar and [Lionel] Messi in their attack would be a huge boost for the side.
With a forward line including Neymar, Messi and Suarez you would imagine that Barcelona would automatically become favourites for La Liga next season. Having sold their false 9, Cesc Fabregas, new coach Luis Enrique may want a more conventional striker this season and few are better than Suarez. soccersweep believes that this forward line would be even better than what Real have to offer.
Having seen the player up close and personal on scores of occasions last season we can confidently say that Suarez would improve Barcelona. His skill is matched only by his self-belief and he can conjure goals from absolutely nothing. But with reports suggesting that the fee could be anything up to £100m the transfer would require most of Barcelona’s yearly player budget. But, we think that he would be worth every penny.
Let’s have a look at him in action. Barcelona fans: is this signing possible?
