Arsenal odds on to sign brilliant striker in Jan

Alvaro Morata

Good signing for Arsenal?

As Theo Walcott left the pitch against Tottenham, with his fingers denoting the score and a cheeky smile on his face noone could have envisaged the extent of his injury.

Why do these injuries always seem to blight players who are on top form? Walcott has had more than his fair share of critics in his Arsenal career, even from fans of the club.

But few could argue with his recent form which has portrayed him as a player at the top of his considerable game. Up top against Tottneham he gave a masterclass in movement and finishing and it is such a damn shame that he’ll not only miss the club season but, in all likelihood, The World Cup.

It’s not only the quality that Arsenal will miss but the adaptability. Theo played most of his games for Arsenal on the wing but his preferred position was of course as a striker. Now that Arsenal have lost Walcott and Bendtner the need for a striker is even more pressing.

We know it’s hard to buy in January but we still think Arsene should try to push the boat out for a top star. If that doesn’t happen the chances are that Arsenal will try to loan a player. The Alvaro Morata hype has been rumbling on and the brilliant young Real Madrid player is now odds on with bookmaker Bet Victor to be turning out in the Arsenal colours by February.

We think he’d be a good short-term signing but there is no way of knowing how quickly he would adapt to England and, we think, Arsenal may need to add another striker in January if they are going to maintain a serious challenge at home and in Europe.

Let’s see him in action. Arsenal fans – is Morata alone enough to bolster the front line in the hunt for silverware?

The only striker who is both available and of the right quality is Jackson Martínez.

Suarez, Lewandowski and Diego da Silva Costa will always be out of our reach.

Karim Benzema is well over-rated, over-priced and too much like Giroud – meaning he wouldn’t give us another option.

Jackson Martínez is keen, available and reasonably priced.

Honestly, ‘I really don’t know why Wenger is beating around the bush, he said he needs a “special” striker. Isn’t Jackson Martinez one of them?’

Please check out his skills and goals, he is very strong, very quick, got fantastic dribbling skills, very hungry for goals… He is super quality, more so, he is an Arsenal fan. Mr Wenger, no need to look any further, i strongly believe this guy ticks all boxes for us, on a long and and short term fix.
