Unbelievable talent

Arsenal are now the bookies’ favourites to land Calum Chambers. Their price has dropped to 2/1, much shorter than Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool.

And they are now the most likely club to land the talented youngster according to The Daily Star.

The Gunners have been priced up at 2/1 to beat off the challenge of their Premier League rivals to land their man.

The 19 year old came through the Saints academy, which has also produced talents such as Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He broke into the senior squad in 2012. However, he had limited appearance until this season where he has seen much more game time and impressed fans and pundits alike.

He has also represented England at under-17 and under-19 level and is regarded as an exciting prospect for the future.

Arsenal are in need of a right back following the departure of long time servant Bacary Sagna to Manchester City. This has left the inexperienced Carl Jenkinson as the only senior player in that position.

The Gunners have also been heavily linked with Serge Aurier over the last few weeks. The Ivorian is current with his national team in Brazil for the World Cup.

The reported interest in Calum Chambers will further disappoint Saints fans. Not only have they had to replace their manager, who left to take charge of Tottenham, but they also faced the prospect of losing a number of their star performers from the last season.

There is continued speculation that the likes of Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and James Rodriguez could move to other clubs, while front man Rickie Lambert has moved to boyhood club Liverpool.

Southampton fans did get some good news in the form recently with Dutchman Ronald Koeman confirmed to be taking charge of The Premier League club next season. Nathan Gibson
