Prodigy linked

Arsenal haven’t has the best of weeks as their European dreams have once more crumbled in the face of Bayern Munchen. The German champions were never really rattled in the second leg as they coasted to a quarter final place in the competition.

The annoying thing from our perspective is that Bayern looked beatable. Sure, they are supremely well-organised, hardworking and have a some sensational players. But, whereas Barcelona looked frightening against City on Wednesday, Arsneal were certainly not overwhelmed in Munchen.

They simply lacked that cutting edge up top to make best use of the attacks they had. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain made some great runs from midfield but there was noone in the Arsenal front line who really scared the opposition.

With that in mind Arsenal have today been linked with a German wonderkid who is making a name for himself at Bayer Leverkusen. German daily Bild says:

Even Arsenal knows Bubi Wagener already

The suggestion is that Arsenal are aware of the player and ay be interested. But, at 19, he’s another really raw talent who hasn’t even played a game at senior level for his club. Arsenal apparently watched him shine in the UEFA Youth League.

The wing wizard, who has played all across the front line, is said to be pacey and precise. He’s so raw that there is hardly any footage of the lad but we have found a little snippet of him setting up a tap in for a team mate with some excellent foot work. You’d have to say that this is one for Arsenal’s future rather than the present.
