Arsenal – Arsene to make room for Maestro?

Arsenal, along with Manchester United, have been put on alert after Luis Enrique hinted that Cesc Fabregas may be allowed to leave Barcelona in the summer. According to The Express the new manager of the Catalan club refused to answer questions regarding the future of the midfield maestro, saying:

“Is Cesc in my plans? We’re not going to talk about names.”

The speculation intensified as Enrique was happy to talk about other players who are clearly going to feature in his plans. Their boss in the same interview praised both Lionel Messi and Neymar.

“Neymar obviously one of the most important players in the team, was a big investment by the club and I’m happy to have him. Messi brings more than just goals, he’s very important for group. We want him at best, if not we will help him so that he is.”

Fabregas first joined Arsenal in 2003 from Barcelona and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of The Gunner’s key players and eventually even captain. However in 2011 he left the North London team and re-joined his boyhood club.

The 27 year old is a huge star and an established Spanish international, with 87 caps for his country. While playing for Arsenal he was considered one of the best midfielders in the league and his stock has not decreased since his move back to Spain.

The player was also linked with a move away from the Nou Camp last summer but that eventually came to nothing and he remained a key player for Barcelona making 36 league appearances.

Although Manchester United are more in need of a creative central midfielder, Arsenal could be in pole position thanks to his long standing relationship with the club where he made over 200 appearances. Arsene Wenger would no doubt be keen to bring the midfielder back but would likely have to pay over £40 million for his services.

Who writes this crap eh? Wenger, last year confirmed that we had a first option/buy back clause inserted into the contract that took Fabregas to barca, and for a reduced fee of £25million. He also said, that Fabregas had intimated to him that he’d give it one more season, and if it didn’t work out he would consider his position at the club. How, do these so called ‘Journalists’, keep on arriving at these so called ‘Exclusives’, e.g ‘Fabregas to be sold for £40 million’, ‘Fabregas was close to joining Utd’, when in fact, Fabregas detests utd with a passion and he said that he’d only come back to England to play for Arsenal. It’s not even sensationalistic journalism as anyone in football knows the position Arsenal have on any sale of Fabregas depends on if ARSENAL want him or not, plain and simple.

Finally a sensible Goober reminds us of mugs who call themselves journalists. Its so boring. reading all this tosh they keep churning out. However, if Cesc was to come I would love to see his interplay with Cazorla and Ozil or Giroud. Imagine what a strong finisher upfront would do for us?
