An Arsenal XI come August – The Best Case Scenario

Insideemirates1

Great team, great bench

Even though there have been reports over the last 24 hours that a deal has been agreed in principle with Newcastle right back Mathieu Debuchy, we still haven’t seen any official new arrivals.

Until we see the player being photographed in the Arsenal shirt and smiling like a man who just flipped the aces in a poker tournament, we won’t be satisfied.

But the rumour mills are awash with speculation about scores of signings and some of these deals will surely come off.

Gunners fans have been crying out for years for Arsene Wenger to buy an ugly brute of a central midfielder who can add a little bit of aggression to the Arsenal side.

Hopefully this summer will see an end to that chase and Arturo Vidal looks like the most tasty, though difficult to snare, addition who would come in at a huge price.

The second priority is to add to the striker department and dozens of players have been linked to a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners could do far worse than to sign the electrifying Porto forward Jackson Martinez.

He’s stated a preference for a move to Arsenal and Wenger should be driving over to Portugal himself to get this deal done. Martinez is a goal machine – plain and simple. If Arsenal can also add Loic Remy then the squad would be completely transformed and look sensational once more.

Beyond that we expect to see a right back arrive at the club and Debuchy looks like a decent option.

So, if everything goes well for Arsenal in the transfer market this summer – and that is a huge ‘IF’ based on recent windows – this is how we currently think that the team could line up come August.

Arsenal fans: feel free to argue viciously with these selections.

Arsenal: (4-1-4-1) Szczesny, Debuchy, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs – Vidal – Griezmann, Ozil, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain – Martinez

Subs: Walcott, Wilshere, Remy, Giroud, Diaby, Cazorla, Micah Richards

No Chance mate, debuchy and remy may be correct but the rest no chance…

below, you may disagree but being an arsenal fan for so long and knowing Arsene Wenger, it’s as realistic as it will get…

    4-2-3-1

    Szczesny
    ——– Debuchy-Koscielny- Mertesacker-Gibbs——

    ——- Aaron Ramsey – Khedira(hopefully)/Schneiderlin(probably will…French…)

    —Theo Walcott(after fit)/ Sanchez(hopefully) – Mesut Ozil – Santi Cazorla/Lukas podolski—-

—Giroud/(another striker for sure but too hard to tell which)

    Bench: (GK too hard to say) – Vermaelen(maybe) – Monreal – Wilshere – Arteta -santi/lukas – Giroud/(new striker)
