Manchester United: The Most Sought After Player in Europe targeted?

Great player

This transfer is drawing a variety of opinions depending on which source you read.

It does appear that the move is going to happen in the next couple of weeks but the final destination of Juan Cuadrado is the subject of much debate.

Marca thinks that the player that Cuadrado is desperate to move to Barcelona and that he’s waiting for the club to make a bid that satisfies Fiorentina.

The 26-year-old has his heart set on a move to the Camp Nou and has told the Fiore higher-ups and some of his teammates as much. The snag is that Manchester United have outbid Barça so far and the onus is on the ‘Azulgranas’ to match the Red Devils’ €40m offer.

English media outlet The Independent seems go one further by suggesting that Manchester United are no longer interested in purchasing the player.

United are not in the bidding for the Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado, at Fiorentina. They have looked at him but do not regard the player as a target and have no further interest.

Meanwhile, A Bola has suggested that Manchester United are preparing a €75 million bid for Cuadrado and Daley Blind.

Then if you pop over to The Metro, Chelsea appears to be the shark in the water for both Manchester United and Barcelona.

Chelsea are ready to make a bid for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado after joining Manchester United and Barcelona in the race for the player.

Chelsea have proven to be very decisive in the transfer market so Manchester United and Barceloana will have to pull their fingers out if they want the player.

We definitely think that Manchester United would be a better side with Cuadrado in it. But whether the right flank is a priority at this rate, with players like Antonio Valencia, Rafael Da Silva and Ashley Young all able to play there, is questionable.

While Manchester United and Chelsea could well retain an interest we think that the current situation is as much about player power as anything. We get the sense that Cuadrado would prefer a move to Barcelona and is holding out for that to materialise. The question is, can Barcelona afford another big buy without offloading first? The answer is probably no.

Let’s see Cuadrado in action.
