Arsenal could be about to break the bank to land a brilliant talent. The club are being linked with a big money move for Uruguayan forward Edison Cavani.

According to The Metro, reports coming out of Spain suggest that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the striker and is hopeful that a deal to bring him to The Emirates can be completed before the end of the transfer window.

Cavani has been linked with a move away from PSG all summer. While the striker has a prolific goal scoring record, he has not been as spectacular at the French side as at other clubs. This has largely been due to the fact that he has been played out of his favoured position on the wing rather than centrally.

Arsenal are known to be interested in Cavani. His agent has recently revealed that the North London club has approached him about a possible transfer earlier in the summer.

Despite the striker trying to cool speculation linking in with a move away from France, a move could certainly still go through if PSG can secure the signing of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid.

This would provide Arsenal with a clinical striker who scored 16 times in just 30 league appearances last season. The 27-year-old is widely considered one of the best forwards in world football from his time at Napoli where he netted an impressive 104 goals in 138 games in all competitions.

The transfer is likely to cost The Gunners though, with PSG believed to want in the region of £50 million to let him leave. This would make the player Arsenal’s biggest ever signing, dwarfing the signings of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
However, it could be exactly what Arsene Wenger needs to challenge for The Premier League and Champions League titles in the upcoming season.

Let’s see some magic from Cavani. Arsenal fans- the perfect addition?
