Various tabloid newspapers are today suggesting that Manchester United are closing in on a deal for the brilliant Colombian wing back Juan Cuadrado.

We would love to see him in The Premier League, and specifically at Manchester United, where he could be an absolute revelation in the 3-5-2.

And while there is of course the chance that he will go for the money at United we do get the sense that the player wants a move to Barcelona.

Sport.Es has suggested this week that he will stay in Fiorentina if Barcelona don’t offer the requisite money for the player.

But Manchester United could certainly use his talents and The Metro reckons:

And The Fiorentina chief fuelled the transfer fire on Friday afternoon by stating that he thinks the player will leave this summer:

‘I talked with Cuadrado in a very quiet and clear way. I said to him that at Fiorentina there is an important project and I hope that he can stay with us another year,’ he said.

‘But I want to say to Fiorentina fans that if a big offer arrives, the player will leave our club, and I think this offer will arrive.

‘I won’t hold him and I can’t hold him in the case of a big offer. The situation will be more clear next week.’

With talks having now taken place between Fiorentina and the player we should imagine that his future will be resolved imminently.

There is no doubt that he would be the ideal signing for the club. A player who could devastating on that right flank with his pace, guile and lung capacity.

Let’s see Cuadrado doing what he does best. Manchester United fans: is this one a pipe dream or will the player actually be wearing the red of United next season?

Di Maria and Cuadrado on the flanks stretching defences and creating space for Rooney and RVP. With Mata, Herrera and Vidal this would offer an offensive threat from anywhere on the pitch. Could be outstanding.
