Manchester United: Goodbye to another Champions League winner?

Nani: Frighteningly good but not very often

Time for a move

With the main yearly transfer window upon us there are some pretty outlandish stories circulating. And one player who has seemingly been on the move from Manchester United for a couple of years now is Portuguese winger Nani.

We reported earlier in the week on how the player might be a drawing interest from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. And recent reports suggest that Arsenal are set to make a bid in for the winger:

The Metro reports:

Arsenal set to make £9million transfer offer for Manchester United winger Nani

Arsene Wenger tends to coach the best out of football players. That’s not to say that he’s necessarily a better coach than Sir Alex Ferguson. But perhaps his training methods at Arsenal will suit the player and help him to finally realise his potential.

The Manchester United star, who won The Champions League with the club in 2008, is one of the greatest enigmas in the modern game. Capable of the bewitching skill but not on anything approaching a regular basis. The ruthless amongst us might suggest that he has the physical qualities to be a top footballer but not the football brain to go with it.

We do say that a change is as good as a rest however and his time at Manchester United is surely coming to an end. His last campaign was possibly his worst.

At 27 he still has lots of time and perhaps at Arsenal he can flourish and prove that the £9m paid for him was an absolute bargain. More likely, however, he will end up playing out his days at a mid-sized Portuguese club where, with the pressure off, he may finally mature into a player with consistent end product instead of the all too infrequent dashes of genius that we have seen in England.

But let’s see some Nani magic. Arsenal and Manchester United fans: do you want him?

as an attacking player, hes on the cheap. if he doesnt ask for huge wages and arsene wont bring in some big guns, its good to make a gamble on
    Nani.
