Superstar

For once Real Madrid have been put in the shade, in terms of their spending, as Barcelona have signed Luis Suarez for £75 million.

They have welcomed Toni Kroos to the club in what should turn out to be one of the best deals of the summer. The stylish midfielder can play in several roles in the side and was probably the best passer of the ball at The World Cup.

So Real Madrid have got a real bargain there because the player only cost around £20m.

But you feel that there is still one big deal, at least, this summer for the Spanish giants and reports in England today suggest that they are very close to a deal for the brilliant Colombian forward James Rodriguez.

Rodriguez scored six goals and assisted two at The World Cup and showed incredible composure for a 22-year-old. He really was one of the stars of the tournament.

And The Daily Mail says that a player has agreed to join the club this summer.

James Rodriguez ‘agrees’ to join Real Madrid as club look to complete £63m deal for World Cup Golden Boot winner

Negotiations have not been straight forward, but Madrid hope to sell winger Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain this week for £47m (€60m) and that could speed up the deal.

Rodriguez would undoubtedly make Real Madrid an even more incisive attacking unit and the immediate casualty may be Karim Benzema, with Cristiano Ronaldo asked to play up top with Rodriguez and Bale either side.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Real Madrid fans: Worth the money?

Right james is a good player of his generation if real will sign him we will be grateful but to sign james and sell DIMARIA is the great mistake that real never made before to me is better to keep dimaria and quite for james now.
