Great additions

Arsenal could be about to launch a surprise bid for the talented winger Antoine Griezmann.

Reports suggest that the 23 year old has turned down a contract extension from his current side Real Sociedad, giving Arsenal the opportunity to jump in with an attempt to sign him according to The Daily Star.

Antione Griezmann has rejected a new contract from Real Sociedad.

Arsene Wenger is an admirer of the French winger and they could be poised to strike.

Griezmann has long been considered as a potentially world-class winger. At just 23 years old, player has already made over 200 appearances for Sociedad in all competitions, scoring 52 goals.

He also has 8 caps for France and was part of the squad at the 2014 World Cup where he made an appearance in all five games for his national side.

Arsenal have been linked to Griezmann in the past but the speculation never amounted to any transfer. The continuing reports suggest that the North London club are seriously looking at the possibility of bringing him to The Emirates.

He could well prove to be a very good signing for the club if a move does go through. Arsenal suffered last season due to a lack of pace on their flanks, due partly to injuries to both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott. The addition of Griezmann along with the imminent arrival of Alexis Sanchez would mean they have plenty of speed on their wings with suitable backup.

The Gunners are also reportedly looking at David Ospina to provide back and competition to their current first choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. They are currently without any established replacement goalkeepers following the departure of Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea.

Ospina has impressed at the 2014 World Cup, helping his national side Colombia reach the quarter-finals where they were knocked out by Brazil.

With Arsenal said to be closing in on the triple signing of Alexi Sanchez, Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy it looks like the North London side could be a much-improved side next season. Fans will be confident that these new additions will help them challenge for multiple honours in the coming years.

Let’s see Griezmann in action. Arsenal fans: exciting potential addition?
