Arsenal shock favourites to sign Woody – flying goal machine

Perfect addition

There have been plenty of really stand out performances in The World Cup so far, including those usual suspects Messi, Neymar and Eden Hazard.

But one of the players who was expected to set the tournament alight didn’t even make it to Brazil.

Germany winger Marco Reus, nicknamed ‘Woody’ by a team mate had a sensational season at Borussia Dortmund but he was cruelly injured prior to Brazil 2014, during a friendly match, with only a few days to go before the tournament started.

Thankfully the injury won’t put him out for too long and every top club in Europe seems to be keen on him. Arsenal have been linked in the past but Barcelona’s rumoured interest has been the most recent. However, their potential pursuit of Luis Suarez may put the Reus interest on the back-burner.

And Arsenal fans will be very interested to know that their club is now best priced to sign the player this summer, if he does move.

Arsenal are now 3/1 favourites with bookmaker Skybet to sign Reus if he does leave the German club this summer – which seems very possible considering the hype surrounding him.

One of the most two footed players in Europe Reus can score goals from a central position or cutting in from his preferred wide role out left. Just 25 years of age he’s played 21 times for Germany and scored 7 goals – he’s one of the most prolific wide men you will see. He’s also scored 42 goals in just 90 games for Borussia since joining two years ago.

We have no doubt that he would be an exceptional signing for Arsenal – even better than Alexis Sanchez of Barcelona.

We wouldn’t be surprised to hear lots of speculation about this one in the coming days and weeks.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Arsenal fans would Reus be the ideal signing in the transfer window?
