Sensational News for Manchester United

The Theatre Of Dreams

The big man wants to stay

It’s always encouraging to get really good news prior to a huge match. It can send positive vibes through the club and provide the feel good factor that can bring wins and points.

On the eve of the biggest game of the season for Manchester United news has broken, from respected sources, that one of their main men wants to stay at the club.

There has been speculation for months that RvP is unhappy with the way that Manchester United are playing and wants out of the club. The fact that he hasn’t commented on the speculation has only added fuel to an already borderline uncontrollable fire.

But The Guardian today reports that RvP wants to extend his contract at Manchester United.

“The truth is I’m very happy at this club,” Van Persie told United Review, the club’s programme, in an interview for Sunday’s match against Liverpool. “I signed for four years and I’d be delighted to stay even longer, beyond the next two years I have left on my contract. This is how I feel, although it’s not what has been suggested in the media.”

“I’ve worked with some brilliant coaches and I’ve taken a real interest in all the methods they use and the choices they make. And I can tell you that Moyes’s sessions and the things he says in his team meetings are spot on. I really enjoy working under him and I’m absolutely convinced things will pick up and we’ll turn it around.

Incredibly reassuring words for Manchester United fans who thought that the striker was on his way in the summer. The idea that Rooney and RvP can’t play together seems ridiculous. Players of this quality should love to work together. Hopefully now we will see the partnership flourish.

It’s a massive fillip for Manchester United and may provide the sort of unity required to beat Liverpool on Sunday and go on a super run in the league and in Europe.

Let’s see some RvP magic for Manchester United.
